"Downloading and burning DVDs can be very unreliable. We have seen literally hundreds of instances where Windows Home Server setup fails with all sorts of weird errors where the root cause was either (a) an ISO image corrupted during download, (b) an unverified burn of the DVD, (c) poor quality DVD media, (d) mis-matched DVD media (e.g. DVD-R used in a DVD+R drive), and (e) malfunctioning DVD-ROM readers.

To prevent these problems from affecting you please do the following when downloading and burning DVD images:

- Use a CRC check utility to verify the ISO file you downloaded was not corrupted. We post the CRC value for each ISO on Connect. You can find a lot of free CRC utils on the web if you do not have one. This is a CRC32 Checksum (Meaning it was generated using the CRC32 algorithm).
- Do not burn your DVDs at "maximum" write speed. Use a lower speed setting in your DVD burning software to reduce the risk of errors.
- Use a DVD burning software package that supports verification (e.g. DO NOT use dvdburn.exe). If you use Nero, make sure you turn on the data verify option on the page before you start the burn.
- Use high quality DVD media that is matched to your DVD writer and reader.
- Make sure your machine has at least 512MB RAM. WinPE 2.0 in the mode we use it in (WIM) requires something well north of 256MB and will fail in obscure ways if there is not enough memory.
- Check that the BIOS in your server is the most recent. In some cases, a PC will not boot any WinPE 2.0 based disk (including Vista RTM) until the the BIOS is upgraded.

Windows Home Server setup has been extensively tested. If you encounter any failures during setup, including notifications of corrupted or missing files, blue screens, or other faults it is most likely due to a DVD problem."

Windows XP SP3 December'08 with Repair function

Size: 699 MB (733,478,912 bytes)

Slightly improved over my previous release "XP pre SP4".
In creation of this OS, new methods (HFSLIP etc) are implemented instead of Nlite. Now Windows structure is more stable and optimized. Looks like original Windows but is very different. Read carefully to see why!

Now with:
- Fully updated with more updates on less space-only one CD (including latest MS security updates from December 2008). Only one MS update is intentionally missing - Windows Search 4
- REPAIR Function fully functional (can repair this or other Windows XP)
- It can update/upgrade existing Windows XP, can do clean install, on any partition...
- Masstorage drivers for SATA/RAID support (integrated widely used drivers as much as I could found )
- Validated, can freely go to update on Microsoft with integrated latest WGA/OGA
- Patched for increased number of connections
- UxTheme patched (One VisualStyle is integrated with few nice Winter Wallpapers, for those that don't like usual
Win XP look)
- System-ready for (HD) Audio driver install (missing in original Windows XP SP3)
- Extended Control Panel with new functions

No other drivers are integrated, must install sound, graphics, from own sources (in some cases it is healthier for the machine)

Windows Setup is not as usual unattended, but is like in original Windows (see pictures), i.e must agree with terms, must enter Serial number...

BEFORE STARTING WINDOWS SETUP DON'T FORGET TO WRITE DOWN ANY OF THE ALTERNATIVE SERIAL NUMBERS FROM FILE "Serial.txt" ON THE ROOT OF THIS ISO (OR BURNED CD). WILL NEED THEM TO TYPE DURING SETUP.
Everything is like in original Windows. But, don't worry, this OS is activated and fully updated.

One Theme integrated with winter Walls (activate through Desktop Properties) if don't like default Win look.
